As an advanced traveler and an experienced hospitality professional, I came and come across many places on this wonderful planet. Lucky me! 

And although I live in the Netherlands and I was born in Germany, now living almost 20 years abroad, I love to go back to my beautiful family, I visit my darling sister and mother in Izmir, but also Bodrum is where my heart beats. 

This is the town where I love the most, where I have uncountable memories, friends, family, and this is the place where I met hotel life at the @hapimag resort sea garden.

For the Turkish people and people that have lived in Bodrum, they start to hear the song from the band named MFö – Bodrum… 

“ How many of us were there then, how many who has stayed…Bodrum – Bodrum…” 

I was there with my friends and family again, as we try to go every may, we stayed at Hapimag, I cannot recommend the resort, guest friendliness and the food and location enough, I am their ambassador, fabulous resort. 

But when I was there and walking on the hills, up & down, along the Aegean see, listening to the music of Charlotte de Witte or only to the nature, I wished that someone could invent a machine that could catch the air and the scent of the air to take it home, that pine tree bushes and the sea, beach took my breath away. 

I was also surprised about the busyness of the Bodrum streets, there are much more population now living and the town is expanding to the whole peninsula, although I would love to see some more tourists what the country definitely deserves, but I understand that May vacation is not everywhere in the world at the same time. 

Bodrum, Gumusluk, Yalikavak are wonders of this amazing beautiful and friendly country that makes me proud of every time about my roots, also make me proud of Turkish wines, surprisingly uncommon in Europe although! I dare to say these wines can easily match many other countries wines, there is definitely a gap in the market or something wrong with the taxes when exporting / importing…

Anyways, I wish I could translate my feelings better than I do now, but I would love to recommend this beautiful place and it’s unmatchable kind and friendly people, great lakes, seas, cities, food, drinks, air, scent, streets, culture – very rich culture, sun, fun, music to you. 

Give it a try, you will not disappoint.
